Strawberry Shortcake Trifle


  • 1 pound strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pound store-bought pound cake, sliced
  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam
  • Whipped cream and additional sliced strawberries for garnish


  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, 1/4 cup of white granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix well and set aside.
  2. In another mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream until it begins to thicken.
  3. Gradually add the powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and continue to beat until stiff peaks form.
  4. In a trifle dish or glass bowl, arrange a layer of sliced pound cake on the bottom.
  5. Spread a layer of strawberry jam on top of the pound cake.
  6. Add a layer of the sliced strawberries on top of the jam.
  7. Add a layer of whipped cream on top of the strawberries.
  8. Repeat the layering process, starting with the pound cake, until all of the ingredients are used up.
  9. Finish with a layer of whipped cream and top with additional sliced strawberries for garnish.
  10. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
