Avalanche Cookies


  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips


  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter and peanut butter over low heat, stirring frequently, until smooth.
  3. Add the powdered sugar to the saucepan and stir until well combined.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the crispy rice cereal until it’s completely coated with the peanut butter mixture.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  6. Melt the semisweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, heating them in 30-second intervals and stirring between each one, until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
  7. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the cookies with a spoon or a piping bag.
  8. Melt the white chocolate chips in another microwave-safe bowl using the same method.
  9. Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the cookies, creating a zigzag pattern on top of the chocolate drizzle.
  10. Let the cookies cool and set for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm.
  11. Serve and enjoy your delicious Avalanche Cookies!
